Long time lurker, new poster

This site has been of value for me as I've researched different lenses for my Pentax ME, and I have found quite good information for these lenses. I've finally become more regular in my shooting so I've decided to finally sign up to the site. kevin2314

ME shooting...

Welcome. I've just joined, too. Looking eventually to get a Pentax digital, but now shooting with MX.

I see you shoot with WR kit lenses. What do you think of them? Plastic mount, said to be not too sharp. And I see some photos posted on the net that are not too sharp; then again, I see some by some photographers (usually stopped down a bit) where the images are certainly acceptably sharp. Color looks good on these lenses. What is your experience. How do you like that Super-Takumar 55?

The DA 18-55 is a sort of 'upgraded' kit lens, it has quick shift, included lens hood, distance scale and metal mount.
The DA L 50-200 is the kit lens, no quick shift, no included hood, no distance scale and plastic mount.
I'm not an expert but they work for me.
Not the sharpest lenses available, but there a good budget two lens kit.
The DA 18-135 (which I don't have) is sharper and longer range.
A two lens kit I would want would be the 16-85 and 50-300.

I don't use the Takumar much but it is fun playing with old lenses.

How funny; you're in Golden, BC, and I'm in Golden, Colorado. Cool. Yep, I'm looking forward to all the different lenses that will fit on the Pentax body. Best camera/lens I ever had were the Nikon F with Photomic head and the Nikkor 55mm f/1.2 lens... back in the dark ages. Pentax cameras are hot, and lots of fun.
