Hello
Would like to start by saying what an amazing site this is, the information available to Pentaxians is immense.
I started shooting about a year and a half ago, purchased a K50 kit. Since then I haven't been able to put it down.
I am currently thinking of upgrading to a K3, but cannot decide, I have read and reread posts, but still undecided.

Thanks to all
Frank

Welcome to the forums! It's always nice to meet another enthusiast

What lenses do you currently have? Have you considered buying more lenses instead? I found my photography really took a jump when I purchased a few primes and then again when I picked up more specialty lenses (like macro and ultra-wide).

Frank, Welcome to the forum! Indeed, not only is this the best site for information; but also for the best members!

I would recommend going for the K3! I went from my K10D to the K3 (had it about a month), and am amazed daily at the capabilities of it! You certainly cannot go wrong with one, especially with the specials Adorama & B&H are running on it currently.

Anything you might purchase from these two companies; use this information/links to help out this site, as well as getting some more privileges for yourself.

Hi Keitha
My first lens, after the kit, was a Sigma 10-20 f4, I used this one probably 95% of the time, though I need to replace it as I scratched the front element, leaning towards the DA 12-24. Since then I have been expanding my collection and trying some of the older primes.
As for my list, FA 50 1.7, Sigma 105 Macro, A50 Macro, K55 1.8, M28 3.5, DA 35 2.4, DA 70 ltd. DA 40 XS. I really like the rendering on all the 50's. Just got the 70 a week ago, so still learning this one

Hi Carol
I am in Canada, so our dollar is not helping much on this, but the K3 has come down quite a bit lately. Waiting to see if black friday will bring anything

Based on your lens collection, I'd go with the camera upgrade. You have almost all of the focal lengths covered (my apologies to the Bigma people!), so a camera with more capabilities seems to be the next logical progression. I'm personally looking at the K-S2 myself (although the coming full-frame does beckon!). Do let us know what you decide!

Welcome to he forum Frank...
Ya, that Canadian dollar is a bitch. I've simply stopped buying stuff, hoping it will go back up...

From my favourite Canadian seller, it looks like a great price until you do the exchange and it's $1233. Ouch....

Canadian dollar is bad right now, I've bought from The Camera Store in the past (K-50 and two lens kit). Very nice people to deal with, they price match $700 vs $600 YAY...
