Hello from Switzerland

Hi everyone,
I'm new on the forum but I followed many threads for one year. I have a Canon 7D and I'm very interested by Asahi M42 Lenses.
As a cinematographer, I'm especially working with cinema cameras like RED, and because you can have an EF mount I can try M42 lenses on it with an adapter.
So, that's why I'm here, to find some great little lenses in M42 thread mount and discuss about it.

Cheers everybody,

Blaise

What lenses are you looking for; and what are the best lenses for cinema? MF of course, and easy aperture change, I would imagine.

As a cinematographer, I own a RED Epic Dragon and I love to test it out with some vintage M42 lenses because they are easily adaptable on canon EF mount.
Obviously, I prefer to work with expensive PL Cinema Lenses because it's far more reliable and adapted to professional shoots. But I find interesting to use some little M42 gems on the Dragon 6K sensor to see what's going on ;-) !

Actually, I bought very cheap M42 glasses :
- Famous Helios 44-2
- Carl Zeis Jena 35mm 2.4
- Takumar 85mm 1.9
- Takumar 135mm 2.5
- Tair 11A 135mm 2.8
- Mir-1b 37mm 2.8

I'm very pleased with all that lenses.

I'm actually looking forward to buy an Auto-Takumar 35mm 2.3 and his distinctive character and also a Takumar 15mm 3.5 aspherical version to compare it with the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 aspherical.

Sounds like a nice collection of glass; not to mention, a superb cinema camera.

Welcome to the forum, presumably you have to "de-click" the aperture on these lenses for cinematography use.
