Hi from here

Hi all, I'm Christophe, and I'm a new pentxian from France. I've been lurking here for a while and gathered a lot of useful informations from the wise guys on this forum.
In short, I'm back to photography after a 20 years break. In ancient times, I used a Minolta manual X700 SLR , mostly with primes, for landscape and macro. Due to the cost of films and lack of talent, I slowly stopped taking pictures. I watched the digital train pass without jumping in.
Some time ago I felt like going back to photography and started to look for a cheap 2d hand SLR. I found a Kr with 18-55 II for about 150 $, bought a Tamron KA ring to stick on my old 90 mm macro and 300 mm, and here we go. I started trying some Pentax lenses and kept a 50 A 1.4 ( for 35 $ !! ) and a 50 mm M 1.7 ( 19 $ ... ) to be used with a reverse ring.
It's nice to feel again the relaxing pleasure of taking pics, and digital is certainly cheaper in the end than film used to be ! But I the AF feature on the 18-55 still feels a bit odd to me ...
I'll post some pics ASAP. Have a nice SMC day.

Welcome aboard! My wife (girlfriend at the time) had a Minolta X-700 and my Dad still has his manual Minolta. Great little systems.

You'll like Pentax for manual lenses, you can use the DSLR as a manual camera and get great results.

Welcome to the forum, good to see the "old primes" getting a second lease of life.
