K20D what next?

Hi everyone.
Have had issues with my K20D. Had it looked at and a new sensor ring put on and now can't change the lens without taking it on and off a number of times. The Pentax people say they will look at it again for me ... another 6 weeks without the camera as it has to go interstate (Australia).
I'm thinking that maybe the customer service is pretty bad here, or the techs don't know what they are doing. Even thinking of moving away from the Pentax fold ... and I have loved the K20D, for my next camera, if I can't be convinced that another Pentax is worth getting. It seems like I'll be having to get another soon.
Any recommendations? (I'm not a pro but I do exhibit and sell a bit of my work. Budget it also limited. If I get a new Pentax camera I'm concerned that my lenses won't work with it.

Any Pentax K-mount camera will work with your lenses. And any camera Pentax is currently selling will be much better than your 8 year old K20D.

Off to the reviews page.
Pentax K-mount DSLRs - Pentax Pentax Digital Cameras - Pentax Camera Reviews and Specifications

Consider a new K50, or a used K5, if you are on a tight budget. All current Pentaxes have excellent image quality, from the K5 forward.

Welcome, depending on the estimated repair costs, you may well be better picking another K20D secondhand.

Me, the next move from my K20Ds will be FF.

Have you used either if those? Have to look them up. Thanks

I would upgrade. A K5 is an excellent option. What sort of lenses are you using?

Welcome!
First, have you tried cleaning the contacts on the camera and the lenses? Might be the cheap fix that works.
If you want used, K-5, K-5II or k-5IIs would be a great option. cheap and plentiful on the used market! Plus built like a brick house! Got mine really cheap because it was used pretty hard and cosmetically looked like heck! But still works great!!
New? K-3 or K-3II plenty of tasty deals rolling around right now!! And the build quality is still there! (So I am told)

Check out this link for a new K50 for $499AU including postage. This is the Australian agent's eBay shop.

IMO try to find a used K5II or K5IIs, the focusing system is much better than the K30/K50. Welcome from Alabama

Thanks for everyones help. I've been reading camera reviews. The K5 and K5 II's looks nice! Where have I been! (I guess my camera was doing fine so I haven't been looking.)
Does anyone have experience with the K3. Wondering what they are like.
The lenses I use are Pentax 16-45, Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG macro, and Sigma 70-300mm DG. I'm having problems with all the lenses.
I also have cleaned everything including the sensor ring on the camera. That is what they replaced which was supposed to fix my previous problem.

A fast and very fine lens. I would recommend the K5IIs as the AF is tuned (partly) for the speed of this lens. Otherwise the K3 would be an even greater upgrade (and is probably cheaper too at the moment - new that is).

Welcome to the forum. The Pentax K-3 and the Sigma 105mm DG Macro are a brilliant combination so if you have the money, get the K-3, you won't be disappointed.

Welcome from Alaska! So far, I have had a great experience with both the K-5IIs and the K-50. At the moment, I believe, you can get a new K-50 for about the lowest average price of a used K-5 series on ebay. If the unknowns of buying used gear makes you nervous, I would say go with the K-50. Of course, if your price point is a little more than double that, a new K-3 could be obtained...

And now I must search for yet another deal on said K-3... uuggghhh...
