Hello from South Jersey!

Hey guys, glad to have found this place. I've been a DSLR owner since early October and my first camera is the Pentax K-50 with the 18-55/50-200 kit lenses. I was initially looking at a Nikkon D3X00 series, but someone pointed me into the direction of Pentax and after comparing the feel of the K-50 and the D3200 it was a no brainer for me to buy the Pentax - not only for the great value, but because it honestly feels higher-end to me.

I've been shooting since I got the camera and have been learning Lightroom as well as seeking critique to expand my knowledge. I'm also buying my first prime the 50mm 1.8, at $90 it seems like a steal! A 35mm is after that!

Here's a few shots I have taken since.

One of the first days with the camera, my best friends child
.
My best friend's child with his mother.
My sister on a woods walk (yes she's wearing shorts).
Two of my other favorite hobbies!
A Halloween fire circle shot.

Anyway, glad to be here!

Not sure where you are in South NJ, but do you know Port Norris? My mother spent much of her growing years there (her mother died very young) and I was taken there to visit the aunts who raised her when I was very young. The aunts also had a place in Wildwood they called "greystone." Visited Port Norris 20 years or so back. It's a real if-you-don't-know-the-way-you-won't-find-it place. Hadn't changed much in 60+ years if at all, and I think the house where I was taken was still standing. It would be well over a century old.

Actually I came across the 50/1.8 by chance searching Amazon, checked a review here and saw it was praised a lot! I can't wait to get it!

I know where Wildwood is, I go there usually once a year, but I haven't heard of Port Norris, sorry!

Aye the "by chance" is what we all say... around here though, we know what it means.
