Hello from Arizona

I bought an Asahi Pentax with a 1:1.4/50 Takumar lens in Japan in 1971. I loaned it out and it came back broken... film wouldn't advance. I'd taken some fabulous photos, mostly slides, in the Philippines with it back then. The sharpness of the photos was astounding. And recently when I realized that I could put the lens on a DSLR, I bought a 'new to me' used K-5 body with a telephoto lens, and 'new to me' adapter M42.... I found the instructions for using the adapter on here. So I'm hoping to get up to speed again with help from this forum. As with too too many things, photography feels a bit like one of my lost skills

Hi, welcome. Your skills aren't lost. They've just been waiting.
Plenty of great places to photograph in Arizona. I enjoyed Oak Creek Canyon when I visited the USA!

Hi Equestrienne. Welcome aboard the forum. Pentax is great for old and new compatibility. Looking forward to seeing some of your photographs soon.

Welcome from western NY.

Sadly, the only parts of your fair state I have been able to see so far is the airport at Phoenix and the stretch along I15 that goes through the Virgin River gorge.
