Another Hello from Finland

Hello Everyone!

I run into this forum looking for info on various Tamron Adaptall lenses. I've always liked them and recently got around to acquiring a few more to play with. Being a Canonist (FD, EOS and recently EOS M) I have never owned a Pentax, but the introduction of K-1... The thought of using the Tamrons like in the old days on full frame and with image stabilization made me drool. I've heard that Pentax glass is good, but having not tried I don't know what I'm missing.

Welcome from Chicago.

Pentax does make it easy to use the old lenses with their control setup. They could make it even easier with some design choices for metering. But overall, you can get stunning images with manual lenses. I think it's because we have to think about the image a lot more, and actively monitor exposure much more closely.

Welcome, JKT. In amongst my collection of manual lenses I have a couple of Adaptall's. Beautifully made, and they perform well. It will be nice to see how people find them on the K-1

I don't think I will miss the automatics that much. I started with Canon AE-1 and a couple of Adaptalls and even now I do mostly macro on full manual.

Well, the ones I had in the 80's did not perform that well, but I've rectified that somewhat lately. Still missing a few I want, though.
