Hello! I'm new here, but not to Pentax which has been a family tradition for the past 43 years! My interest in photography has received its greatest fostering through the hobby of astronomy. I have photographed many beautiful astronomical subjects over the years, comets, meteor showers, nebula and galaxies, lunar & solar eclipses (both partial and total). However, I can appreciate other subjects, such as landscapes when traveling.
I have fallen in and out of photography over the years, but right now my interest has intensified primarily due to the advent of digital photography. It allows me to practice my photographic techniques in ways I couldn't afford to do without using dozens of rolls of film.
Lately, I purchase a used Pentax *ist DL and a new standard 18-55mm kit lens. It is a beautiful work of art! My complements to the manufacturers at Japan's Asahi Optical Company. The kit lens alone feels high quality.
