Getting back into shooting

Hi there,

I got back into shooting a little while ago. It's a hobby that helps get me out of the house.

I grew up shooting on Pentax so when I was looking to buy my first DSLR it was my first choice and just a matter of finding something that was in the right price range.

I've been really happy with the camera and am looking at expanding my lens collection.

It's a great hobby for walking around your region, a good reason to get outdoors.
Welcome from Chicago.

I picked the K-50. It came with the regular 18-55 Lens, which is my default obviously. From my previous camera (A regular SLR) I have some cheaper lenses as well a 28-80 and a 100-300.

Nice camera! I shot with the K-30 and really enjoyed it before eventually getting a K-3. The K-30/K-50 were a great value!

Time to put the combo through its paces, you'll have a lot of fun learning the system.

Welcome! I assume you have tried using your old film lenses on your new camera? You can do it, that's what I love about Pentax.

I have indeed. It's part of the reason I decided to go with Pentax because it meant having the extra lenses. Fantastic that they make it so easy to keep using some of the older lenses on newer cameras.

Welcome aboard, be careful with that excuse, it could be deemed as AWOL when you start putting serious amounts of time.
