Welcome from PA

Coming back to Pentax. Started using Pentax around 1973 with a Spotmatic. Beginnings of being a photo packrat. 1975 added K1000. 1977 bought my MX which I still have today. Then Canon FD fever struck with L lenses in 1983. 1996 added Leica M's to the mix. 1998 Pentax 6X7 added. Talk about a 35 on steroids! 2006 Added Olympus 4/3 for autofocus. Still not ready to commit to high end digital as no one system perfect & I still like the fingerprint of fast manual lenses. 2011 finally added a LX. What a great camera & a lot lighter than my F1N with many of the same features. 2012 bought a used K10 D which I currently use. Still no Pentax AF lenses as I have a few SM & K mounts lying around. A unique Canon FD 17mm f/4 rectilinear converted to 42mm that has very little curvature if centered correctly. Now retired & getting more time to use Pentax more often & see the K1 in the future for FF body. Besides this forum, posted on the Yahoo Canon FD forum for many years & on the LUG. Selling on eBay as vintagepedaler with over 515 positive 100% feedback. I recently started posting pix of some of the Pentax items I managed to luck out in finding and adapting to Pentax M & LX bodies. Pix of my LX with the FD17mm. Cheers!

Converted to 42mm? Do you mean converted to M42 screw mount? That's wild to see. I didn't think the FD could be converted to K due to registration distances.

Thanks, should have done an intro sooner. Joined, dropped out, & now back. Been mainly lurking on the site for a few years. I'm real glad I kept all of my Pentax gear from the 70's on. Only sold the 6X7 as too heavy to lug around all day & my shooting it handheld not the easiest to do. Hard to beat those big negs. It's good to be back.

Lens even wilder with the lens hood on it! Not sure who did the conversion to 42 screw mount but well executed. After I sold my FD17 (as system orphaned in 1991) around 2005, 6 months later this showed up so bid & won. It had an EOS adapter on it so I figured out it had to be a 42 SM underneath. Dry focusing with it looks good. I had it lying around for maybe 8 years so now motivated to try it out. Will have some negs back join about 2 weeks. Luckily I have a great lab 15 minutes away that doesn't scratch negs & get XP2 negs back with a scan CD within 2 days. I'll try it on my EOS 20D in the meantime but made for uncorked bodies. Stay tuned!

Taken with MX & M 1:3.5 135mm lens. Kodachrome slide scanned on Nikon LS-8000. This week I just unpacked it & lens still in LN condition.

My first shot with the FD 17mm using K10D. My garage around 50' from back porch & about 32' wide. Camera held about 7' off ground level. Not sure what the crop factor of K10D is. Pix around 30% of jpeg file. Comments appreciated.
