Getting back into photography and maybe vintage camera repair

I have owned a MX for 35 years. It was a pretty good investment since both of my kids used it for photography class. I have ordered a K-50 so I can start taking digital pictures. I need to document an estate. I am looking to re-use some my old lenses. I am thinking of tinkering with some vintage cameras.

Hi old_manual_guy. Welcome to the Pentax forums. Good luck with the K-50.

Yes indeed, welcome. I also have a MX that I bought in the late 70s, and it's a prize of my collection. The K50 will serve you well, and you'll be able to use your M lenses in manual mode using the green button.

Thanks for the tip about the green button. Looking forward to finding it.

Welcome to the forum, that's just one of the many joys of Pentax owership, backwards lens compatability.

I must confess I am struggling to understand the K-50 operating manual with regards to Pentax-M lens. Any idea where I might find a Using old lenses on DSLR for dummies thread?

Thanks. I must confess that right after I whined about the situation, I found it on my own. This site really is great.

Better to find it twice, than not at all.
