Hello from Austria (no, not Australia)!

Hello community, loving stuff from pentax!

First of all, sorry for my bad English.
I´m 45, living near Vienna. When I was 15 I had a minolta slr camera. After passing school I lost a little bit interest in taking photos. I don´t know why. When digital cameras came up, I was not convinced that they were sophisticated enough. When my children were born, I bought a jvc video camera, sitting hundreds of hours cutting videos. It was a time I had a lot of fun. 8 years ago I bought a lumix only for my business photos. Then end of 2015 I thought it was time to get a "real" camera for composing "wow" pictures of landscape, architecture, macro, portrait, etc. I visited some forums, reading recommandations of experienced photographers and came to the conclusion: I don´t want nikon/canon/sony/.... I want a pentax camera.
So I bought a K5 (as good as new with only 105 pictures taken) and over the last month I became owner of a few used lenses, most of them are nice old glass. I´m loving manual lenses. So I invested only 700€ (about the same in $) for my first dslr equipment. This forum and the lens reviews were a great help for me picking the right lenses. Thank you all!
Now I´m going to learn a lot to improve my skills to become a better user of my equipment.

Welcome to the Forum! Glad you joined us! I hope to see some landscapes of your beautiful Country; both of my maternal grandparents came to the US from Austria, so I had always wanted to visit; but never made it. So photos would be greatly appreciated!

At least in Austria there are fewer things to kill you when you step on or near them than Australia.

Welcome from Chicago!

I don't think it's racist. Since they were the first people to populate Australia, they were the people that were native (aboriginal) to the land from the European point of view when the latter arrived. In Canada many people from First Nations (aboriginal people) still use the short-hand term "native" to describe themselves as descended from the first people to settle North America.

Some of these aboriginal people may indeed be angry, for good reason.
