Original Poster

I just took a photo of an Iguana passing by our office glass door. I never expected a lens so inexpensive can take an image such as this one. Taken with a promaster 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 ld macro which i recently bought for 29 dollars from a thrift store. The IQ was prettty darn clear with lots of details specially on the iguana's face ( where I aimed my focus ). I used a Pentax K-R for the camera. Upgrading soon when funds permit.

Welcome to the forums! Great first shot, looks like you got a great lens at a bargain. If you don't mind manual focus, look into getting a Pentax K to m42 screwmount adapter. The old super takumars will be a very pleasant surprise for you. Pentax is definitely THE system for quality legacy glass usage. I highly recommend the F and FA series legacy lenses, as well as the m42 Super Takumars.
