Hi from Brisvegas

Hi everyone,
Greg from Brisbane here.
Looking forward to being part of the Pentax community
My first Pentax was a Spotmatic - coupled with a number of different screw-mounts that served me well through the 70's and into the 80's. The image below is a creation from the early days with the Spotmatic doing double exposures.
After a Z10 in 2007 I changed over to a K100-D before becoming the proud owner of a K-x, a great little camera that continues to punch well above its weight.
I'd appreciate advice from anyone who knows how to get my old Sigma 35-80mm F4-5.6 DL AF working on the K-x. ...It is the lens with the sticky rubber barrel decay problem...
The lens itself is still in good shape and I'm keen to see what sort of images it can produce on the K-x if I can get the shutter to fire.
Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
Cheers...Greg

Welcome Greg spotmatic and K 100 guy here too :-)
The KX shutter won't fire? Have you got Focus priority turned on in the menu that would do it

G'day Greg, I moved from Brisvegas to Newcastle a couple of years ago and expect to be back there again in the coming months. There's a lot to capture and explore in and around Brisvegas, similarly there's plenty of information and threads to explore here on PF. Hope you enjoy doing both.

Hiya Greg
Welcome aboard.
I'd have a guess and say the lens is not set to the A position on the aperture ring? That will stop the shutter firing, unless you set up the camera as per this link.
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/58-troubleshooting-beginner-help/110658-u...x-dslrs-f.html
That should help with manual lenses, or if using an A lenses just make sure it's in the A position...hope that helps?
Cheers
Dean
