Thanks for adding me to the forum.

I'm a long time Pentax user, having started in 1972 with a Spotmatic II. I later bought an MX but after a few years lost interest in photography. In recent years I have rekindled the interest, initially with a K100D which seemed to have a lot of battery issues, and I've also got a K30 and K50. I still have the film cameras and lenses although the bodies see little use - the mirror cushion seemed to "melt" on the MX and affected the focus screen. The Spotmatic is still exercised occasionally. With recent retirement, I hope to have the time to spend on photography that has been lacking during the bulk of my working life. I came across the forum whilst researching lenses and found it an excellent resource.

Welcome aboard. Did you ever hang out with the fab four?

My first Pentax cameras was a Spotmatic II also. I got mine about the same time you got yours. I still have it and the 55mm f1.8 SMC Takumar lens that came with rocks on my DSLR's.

Never met the fab four. My wife did follow them but never met them. I will keep my Spotmatic II, but it is likely to get only very occasional use.. Super camera, though. I have small hands, so many 70s cameras were too big and gave me "cockeyed horizon" problems. I really preferred the MX, but my sample has problems and with the change to digital it doesn't seem worth sorting them out.
