Greetings from a New England Rip vanWinkle

Hi, Gang!

I've been lurking for a while, but finally decided to sign up.

My last SLR was a Sears/Ricoh KS Super I bought in College in the 1980s. Work, family, and snapshot cameras intervened in the meantime, It's been 30 years since I had bought any real equipment, but I recently picked up a second-hand K10D, which I've enjoyed exploring; I'd never even had a zoom lens before.

Thanx for the Welcome!

The tech has made it a lot easier but the fundamentals are still the same. The best part is now being to see one's mistakes right away, rather than waiting a week!

True enough, at my age now I wouldn't remember how I took it a week ago.

Incidentally, I missed my Sears KS-2 so much that I finally went onto fleaBay and picked up another one -- and a matching Ricoh XR7 -- for peanuts. I had to replace the aged foam seals, but now I find those cameras just as pleasant to use as I remember. Also, Kodak Ektar 100 produces great colors!
