Hello from Switzerland

Hello everybody

taking photos is one of my longtime hobbies. I'm interested in special lenses, micro/macro and since one year in birding.
During my work as an assistant in photo studios, on locations, repro-photography, darkroom, large formats (4/5' and 5/7') and in audio/visual, I've made many good experiences.
I'll be happy to contribute and share information.

Kind Regards
Eric

Thank you for your nice responses and that makes a sunny day smiling.

The first time I met the kingfisher so close, after having wine tasting just before the dark of the evening in mid December. In the meantime, I'm informed, that it is preferable to make these pictures with 260mm instead of 300mm .-)

Nice! Our kingfishers here allow us to get close if I don't have the camera. If I do, they are very coy.
That said, this winter I got my best kingfisher shots to date, maybe they're getting used to me - and the dogs...

May I ask where you found this particular Kingfisher?
I've never seen one yet and I feel like I really should. I was always fascinated by their colours.

Hi Topsy
this one is living in Zurich at River Sihl. You'll find them on a map published by ornithology organizations. It's not easy to see these little birds and it is best to be guided by some bird-watcher.
Have luck!
Kind regards
Eric
