Hi all! I've loved taking pictures since I was a kid, but I never had an opportunity to get a DSLR (or an SLR for that matter) until last year. My husband got me the Pentax K-50 from Microcenter for Christmas last year and I couldn't be happier!
My first experience ever using an SLR was my grandfather's Nikon in the late 90s when I had a black & white photography class in high school. That got me interested in more advanced photography, but it had always been something out of my price range. I still can't really afford the higher quality lenses but I've been stalking e-bay and amazon for anything that might be good for a beginner. I welcome any suggestions as well for lenses that might be good for landscape photography, astrophotography (I love checking out the aurora borealis and I would like to get some pictures of the milky way), macro photography, and wildlife photography. Those are my main areas of interest, though I will literally take pictures of anything ahah.
My flickr album, if it's okay to post that, is
here. I've come to these forums quite a few times since I got the camera, I just never got around to registering. I figure it's high time that I did, so nice to meet everyone!
