Greetings from planet Texas

One of my first film SLRs many years ago was a budget Pentax. At the time I drooled over the flagship ( MZ-S ? ) but I wasn't very good and it was way out of my reach at the time. I've been slowly getting back into photography over the last years, carrying fancy pockets cams ( richoh gr digitals ), then a mirrorless ( fuji ). For a number of reasons I decided it was finally time to get my first digital SLR and I just got the K-3 II. I was surprised how quickly it grew on me, it's a really great camera. It's fun in a way I've not experienced since my days of shooting with the Bessa-L and 25mm. OK, completely different animal but the K-3 II just has a certain draw to it.

I have been lurking on here for a few weeks and the photos here are outstanding, downright inspiring. Looking forward to chatting and perusing more of those pics.

Here's one with the D-FA 100

Regards,
Scott

Interesting that recently I have been noticing so many wonderful photographs taken with that lens, and this one is no exception. May be a little overexposed on the dragonfly. Great detail, bokeh, composition and color rendition. Many thanks,

Antonio

Hi Scott. Welcome to the Pentax forums. You have started your Pentax journey with a " wicked " combination of the K-3II and the 100mm macro. Very good 1st photograph from you.

Welcome to the forums, Scott. That's a great photo. The K-3II is a really excellent camera, and the DFA100 is an all-time classic lens. A really great combo for this kind of shooting

We've got a lot of great entomologists at PF, but I'm not one of 'em...my best guess would be a Blue Dasher of some sort. Great shot, at any rate!
