New to Pentax and the forum

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Just purchased a K-5iis with 18-55 WR. I'm coming to Pentax from Canon and haven't owned a different
system before so it will be interesting to see how I enjoy it. I've been lurking here and used a lot of info in guiding my purchase and am
looking forward to getting some new glass (Wide angle, telephoto or macro, and possibly a new "walk around").

Thanks!

Duke

Welcome aboard! You've made a great camera choice. If you're looking for a high-performance walkaround lens, check out the DA 16-85mm. We have an in-depth review on the homepage

Welcome! As you have already seen, you will never be short of advice, including on how to spend your gear money!

Another suggestion for walkaround is the 18-135mm DC WR lens. No wider than your current kit lens, but a fair bit longer. It all depends on which end you feel the need to expand on. If you're coming from another system, though, you probably already have a good idea from that of what focal lengths you want or need. Happy snapping, and enjoy your K-5IIs!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and suggestions. I've heard great things about the 16-85 and 18-135 as well. Will definitely consider both

I've heard good things about the Pentax 16-45mm lens, although it is now pretty old

I've been looking at it, the price is so tempting and I've heard great things about the IQ.

Also, I just picked up a Tamron 70-300 for CHEAP and I'm having fun with it.
