Welcome
Pentax's are the outdoors cameras. Ruggedly built to withstand bumping around in back packs and carry cases. I've never had one fail in the field. And yes, because I guide people on canoe trips , I have seen both Nikon and Canon gear fail in the field. But hey, that's anecdotal, probably doesn't mean anything.

Check out mattb123's shots in th K-3 and DA18-135 threads. he's the poster boy for Pentax outdoors.

Welcome to the forums. The K-S2 is a fine camera... For most of us, we never stop learning as we go, so you're in good company!
