Hi from Łomza, Poland

I am new to the forum though I've been using Pentax K-5 for about a few months now and I'm happy with the camera though unhappy with the less wide choice of lenses than with other competitive brands.
I've been taking photos for years as an amateur. I have returned to the hobby after some time and started to treat it more seriosly and after shooting with Panasonic GX1 I decided to move up to Pentax as I read a lot about it and its very good and competitive sensor plus feature-packed and weather-sealed cameras.
Below I attach one of my latest photos taken with Pentax K-5.
Have a good day, Pentaxians!

Welcome to the clubhouse!

What kind of lens are you looking for which isn't available? The biggest gap are the high-end long zooms, but those are so expensive anyway.

Welcome aboard, remember there's plenty of legacy glass out there for Pentax cameras.

Actually I was looking for a bright wideangle zoom - something like Tokina's 11-20. I wish Tokina made lenses for the system. I want to get a wideangle which is bright and doesn't cost a fortune - for starry night photography. Unless I will get a prime Samyang (Rokinon) and try and do it. I have a Samyang 12mm f/2.0 with my Panasonic GX1 and it works pretty well with stars but the sensor in Panasonic is way too noisy for that - with high ISO, there's lots of noise. That's why I got Pentax, knowing it has a good sensor but then I came up with a problem with the lenses I'm talking about.
I also have some vintage lenses but not a wide angle one.
Was thinking of sparing a few bucks for Sigma 10-20 but it's rather dark. Do you know of any eqivalent for Tokina 11-20?

There are a few threads out there for wideangles. If you're doing starry night I think I'd look for a prime. The Rokinon 10mm was just reviewed in comparison with other UWA lenses.

There's also a bunch of astrophotography threads,
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/303904-best...otography.html

I got a deal a while ago on a DA21mm, you can get them for under $250. I'm not sure how good it is for astro, but it's a great walkaround lens with tons of contrast. You wouldn't think it for a pancake, but it does. You could also look for one of the older Sigma Ultrawide 24mm lenses, those are supposed to be quite nice and the manual versions are pretty inexpensive.

Probably not in your budget is the Pentax 12-24. I don't have experience with that.

I know. I use some old lenses but can't find the one I need with reasonable (not out of the roof) pricing.
