Hi, just bought a 645D.

Hi all,

I had always wanting to get into digital medium format and bought a DP2 Merrill, but was annoyed by the post processing, and after alot of research I found Pentax 645D and with the help of the articles here I decided to go ahead with it. I am hoping to move into doing professional headshot with 645D later this year too.

So far so good, the images looks great with character, depth and beautiful bokeh, better than the Nikon D750 with Sigma Art lens!

Hi cplkao. Welcome to the Pentax forums. Good to have you on board here, and good luck getting into the professional side of photography too.

I don't know about the actuations but the seller said he only used it twice professionally for headshot so not much I guess!
I got the camera body + 55mm/2.8 for 2600, very lucky!

Me too, I am new to this forum. I recently bought 645D and I am very happy with the results and the handling.

Wow!!

I am very happy for you but at the same time can't help but feel a tiny bit sorry for myself, as when I bought it about 6 months after it came out, I paid near $10,000 US. But as with all tech stuff, and especially in camera bodies these days, the rate of depreciation is what I more or less expected.

It still is a very awesome camera, and I have very much come to love that sensor, and so much so that I held off on 645Z. The ruggedness of that camera really is such an unique feature. I have taken it along, despite its size and weight, just about everywhere that I have visited in the last six years of my life. It can really take a beating.

Enjoy!

Its so nice to be welcomed by so many people

I took some photos on a sunny day walk in the forum if you want to see them here:

Here is a small time-lapse video shot on 645D on a beautiful morning in my living room window.

The 150/2.8 FA had just arrived yesterday, can't wait to use them in the portrait session this weekend!
