Designer, currently in midwest USA, originally from Finland. Found a cheap used K-5 (no lens) recently in a yardsale, and took out an old Zenit Helios 44k-4 58mm f2 lens from my Chinon SLR, so I'm in business.
Love all the supremely useful info on this site, and figured I might as well sign up and participate in the fun! All those fabulous vintage lens reviews are going to be the bankruptcy of me.
I'm working to get the hang of using manual lenses after a couple of decades of autofocus shooting. I'm also looking for a decent and CHEAP vintage lens to start dabbling in dark sky photos. Looking at a 28mm f2.8 for starters since you can get a vintage one for $50 or so... and then find another cheap prime in the 135 to 300mm range.... anyway, figure I can find plenty of information on all that here.
