I think the K3 II or soemthing newer will need to wait. Current work is all within very defined limits so GPS isn't an issue at the moment ;-)

For the type of use you have planned, the more advanced features of the K3 are less useful, unless the top LCD will be of help.
As such I would personally go for a K-70 or its predecessor the K-50, which you can still find and at bargain prices now....use the change for lenses or beer.

I've got loads of stuff up for sale on ebay and more to go on so I'll stick with the K3 for the moment. I'll try and get a decent used Macro and 18-300 or 18-270 lens, shame the Tamron 16-300mm isn't available for Pentax as I've been using one on my Nikons for over a year and very happy with the flexibility it offers

I've been using the top screen a lot since I got the K3

Upgraded firmware (it was still on v1.0)

Waiting for flucard which is due today.

Okay, getting used to the K3, can't post work photos due to copyright but here's some of the young fledglings in our garden instead.

Slight problem of "ghosting" with pictures through double glazing.

Got a K3 II today, very happy boy. Might need a small flash (recommendations please for something cheap). A K3 will be appearing on the "For Sale" list shortly. All I need now is a Pentax friendly Sigma/Tamron 150-600 and I can swap over entirely to Pentax from Nikon.

I don't know if it's cheap, but the 201 is nice for a small, simple flash.

I hope you enjoy your K-3II. Like I mentioned, I have one and it does an excellent job. Happy shooting.
