Hello there.

I'm an old Pentax user -my first camera was a Heiland S2, which I still have but seldom use. I don't own any Pentax digital gear; I moved to M43 gear shortly after the introduction of the Olympus EM5 and sold my Pentax digital gear. The digital gear has relatively limited uses for me: it's mostly to take photos of my grandchildren doing what grandchildren do, which normally does not involve sitting still.

I am a street photographer. My favorite walkaround outfit involves two Pentax LX, one with the 40mm pancake lens; the second one with an 28mm f/2 Pentax M. When I don't have room for both cameras, I choose a 24-40mm f/2.8 Ricoh lens and a pocket point and shoot, usually an Olympus XA. I have a Pentax M 24-50mm f/4, but my example of this lens is way too soft for my liking at f5.6 or wider, which limits its use to very bright days; thus, I prefer the Rikenon lens. I have a small collection of Pentax film cameras: Heiland S2, Spotmatic, K2, KX (film), K1000, MX, MESuper, LX, SuperProgram. My lenses are mostly normals and wides, both SMC Pentax and Ricohs. Primes: Rikenon 24 mm/f2.8, Pentax M 28mm/f2, Pentax M 35mm/f2, Pentax M 40mm/f2.8, Pentax 50mm/f1.4, Pentax M 85mm/f2. Zooms: Rikenon 24-40mm/f.8, Pentax M 24-50/f4, Pentax M 80-200mm (used twice).

For years I did medium format photography with a Pentax 67, but those days are gone and the gear is too.

Welcome to the forum, I too came through the ranks finishing up with LX's, also using a 28mm for my street work as the go to lens.
