Bonjour all, from Montréal,QC

Finally decided to join the Pentax Forum!

Been a Pentax owner since the early 1970 with a S1a, After the shutter fail (was worn-out completely), I purchase a me Super, that I still use time to time just for the fun using a 35mm film.

With the avenue of the digital age I finally purchase a K-100D kit with 2 very nice lens in 2007. Almost 10 years after the purchase of the K100D, I decided to get a K-3.

Incredible camera, like the body and the feel of it, scary at the beginning with all these buttons, menus and customization but after 2 days of use, it's starting to feel like second nature and I am starting to customize it to my liking, thanks to the K-3 forum.

I will keep-on reading the posting and may add my 2cents time to time.

Salut Alain,

Welcome from Québec City member.
As you will noticed (you probably know already), PF is full of valuables information.
There is also a Pentax Quebec group where people post information, from time to time.

Welcome to the clubhouse!
I used to get to travel to Montreal a few times a year, and have very fond memories of that city.

You'll get used to the K3. The only controls I have trouble with are the rear AF button change from K5-K3 and the loss of a physical SR switch from the K10. Beyond that, the K3 is the best of the bunch.

Welcome, Alain - great to have you with us!

You have a long history with Pentax! I'm also a huge fan of the K-3... it's my main camera most days. A superb piece of equipment!
