Hello World!

Hi everyone! This is my first time to own a real camera. I have been using smartphones in taking photos in awhile and I made up my mind just recently to take photography to the next level. My inspiration is my family and especially my son.

Let us enjoy each photo we take!

Hi Tristeza. Welcome to the Pentax forums and Pentax equipment. The K-3II is quite a jump from a smartphone !!! If you need any help or advice, don't be shy about asking.. Good to have you here.

Hello Tristeza, and welcome to the forums - great to have you with us

It's always nice to hear of someone progressing from smartphones to DSLR. There's a lot to be said for smartphones, as you can learn a lot about composition when using them. But a DSLR provides so much more control and endless creative possibilities. Do let us know if you need any help

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. I am experimenting at the moment with my newly acquired SMC M 50mm 1.7 lens. Quite tedious to focus the lens. But it makes amazing results!

Manual focus will be much easier if you get a replacement focusing screen intended for the purpose.

Careful, though, I tried that and now I've gotten sucked into shooting film with gear that's older than I am.

Welcome to the forum.

That is a good advice. Thank you! Looking forward to get one soon. I am already sucked into collecting few old lenses because I am really impressed with the result of the Pentax M 50mm. Oldies but goodies.
