Pentax owner for decades - finally joined the forum!

It's about time, I'd say. Been shooting with Pentax since high school. Right now I'm using the K-5 II, but perhaps a K-3 is not too far off in my future.

Might I suggest a K-3ii in the future instead? For KAF4 compatibility? No new firmware was released for the K-3 IIRC

Right now the K-5 II suits me - no complaints. A K-1 would be nice, but I just can't justify the expense - that, and I mostly have crop-sensor lenses. The K-3 II sounds like a nice upgrade when I get to that point.

Welcome to the forum. I went from a classic K-5 (now my back-up) to the K-3II and am very pleased with the resolution upgrade - not to mention pixel shift and GPS tracking/logging!

That K-5II should keep you more than busy until you decide. I often find myself using my "old" K-5 interchangeably with the K-3/K-3II - I still really like the IQ from that sensor...

Nothing really holding me back - just a combination of not knowing of its existence and then not taking the time to sign up.
