Hello newbie from singapore

Hi guys. I just bought a used K7 body without any lens yet, complete newbie. While playing around the mode dial, I noticed that when I set the mode to TAv or Av or Sv or P or even the green mode, the LCD screen shows "Av Aperture priority".....settings screen. But if I set the dial to M then the LCD screens shows the correct "Manual" settings screen.

Is the body faulty or it's because I didn't mount any lens.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Picanto. Welcome to the Pentax forums and Pentax equipment. I have never used a K-7, so I am unable to help with this question, but many members here do have a K-7 and an answer will not be far away. Good to have you here.

Welcome to the forum, I think it will need a lens mounted on it for it to start behaving correctly.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. Will try once I get a lens.

Out of curiosity I noticed the underside of the camera has a KOREAN label. It shows the date of manufacture and model number..etc (roughly translated using google translate) but why a Korean label?

And the lens mount doesn't have the orange dot for body to lens alignment. Did I bought a fake?

Thanks for your time guys.

Hey, can you post a pic of the mount? Worst case scenario, if you can come around One North, I can have a look at it. Cheers

Welcome to the forums - great to have you with us!

Looking at the first photo, you can see the dimple for the orange dot at the "10 o'clock" position... I think the paint has simply fallen out.

Thank you for your reply. The paint could really have fallen off, and who cares about the Korean label as long as the camera works right. Coming from a Point and Shoot camera I am so used to the actual "tactile" half press feeling on the shutter. Now I really cant "feel" it on my K7 shutter.

Guess so much for me to learn.

thank you guys.
