Hello from Wyoming!

I haven't purchased my camera yet but I am in the market! I love Pentax for it's durability, I want to take my camera hiking/backpacking/camping worry-free.

Hi punkymonkey. Welcome to the Pentax forums, and hopefully some nice new ( to you !! ) Pentax equipment. Any help or advice you may need is only a question away. Good to have you here.

Welcome to the forums. You won't be disappointed if you buy a Pentax. I bought a used K-3 a couple of months ago, or so, and I'm loving it. I still have a lot to learn, but that's part of the adventure. Good luck!

Hello, and welcome aboard!

Durability is definitely one of Pentax's strong points. Have you decided which model you're most interested in, or are you still considering options?

Welcome

with your planned activities, you might want to consider getting the grip accessory, the K 5 II will operate either with the rechargeable battery or AA batteries with the optional grip.

I have a K 5 II and a K 3 and battery grips for both

The accessory gps unit works with the K 5 II
