Hello from Houston, Texas.

I've got an old MV1 with several lenses:

Takumar (Bayonet) 1:2.8 , 28 mm

Pentax 1:2 , 50 mm

Takumar (Bayonet) 1:2.5 , 135 mm

Rokinon Auto Zoom Multi Coated Macro 1:4,5 f=80-200 mm

Only problem is that the little "signal light" in the viewer is not working anymore.

I've inserted new batteries, and tested the connectors, but no go - so I guess it could be the LED's themselves.

Wondering if I could use these lenses with a new Digital Pentax SLR, but I don't really know a lot about cameras these days.

Comments are welcome...

First of all welcome to the best Pentax site in the world.
And yes, any Pentax lens pr K-mount lens, no matter when it was created can be used on modern Pentax DSLRs.
You can also use M42 lenses on modern Pentax DSLRs but you need an adapter and special instructions found on this website.

Thanks photolady95.

Currently a 100% amateur when it comes to cameras, and have been using my phone(s) to take photos for several years as DSLR's where simply way out of my budget.

I've been recommended the Canon Rebel TI5 (by a Canon user), but if it would make sense to use my old lenses (quality- and price wise), I may stick with Pentax.

I assume that all my current lenses are K-mounts, since they fit my camera (?)

Hi pjv, and thanks.

I have plenty of photos I've taken with my phone, but have to dig through my box to find some taken with my Pentax, as it has been over a decade since I used it.

While I am disappointed in the quality of "standard" snaps with my phone, I do like the closeups I've been able to get out of it. Here's one:

Yes, K mount lens fit any new Pentax DSLR right off the bat. Some adjustments might need to be made in camera, i.e. use of the green button (I don't use that), but basically they'll fit without an adapter. That's for M42 lenses only.

You'll be happy to know we also have a phone club:
