Hello to all

Dear fellows,

I am glad to join the community. I have just purchased a K-S1 that I found yesterday for a decent price (350 € with kit lens) on the French Amazon website, and which will be waiting for me upon my next trip there. These days, for work reasons, I spend my time commuting between Kiev, Paris and Yaoundé and photography helps me keep my sanity, whenever I can spare some time to go out and take pictures. A Pentax K-r was my first DSLR. Then I went full-frame three years ago, and that meant kissing Pentax goodbye. But I have been looking for a less bulky gear. During a visit at the Salon de la Photo in Paris last month, I was impressed by the viewfinder of Pentaxes. This is one of the most important component of a camera for me and was a decisive factor in my purchase.

I also shoot film, and I purchased a Pentax SV, I wanted to know if I was able to meter properly without any assistance from the camera.

Below are two pictures from my Pentax cameras. The b&w is a scan from a shot taken with the SV, the second one is among the very first I took with the K-r.

Hello and welcome to the forums - glad you could join us.

Thanks for the introduction - it's nice to learn something about our new members. And congratulations on the K-S1... I agree with you about Pentax viewfinders - they're big, bright and very clear. Enjoy!
