Longtime listener, first time caller. I have been shooting with a K-x for about 6 years and love it. The screen has been cutting out intermittently so I have been waffling on a replacement (and considering other brands

)but think I'm ready to double down on Pentax. Joining to stay up to date and keep a close eye on the market place

*Sunset picture was not taken with Pentax- it's just one that I love!

Welcome to the forum, I see you still looking for justification for a new camera... actually none is required.

Just get a new Pentax. It will last you for years and all the controls are in the right place where you expect them to be. Welcome to the forum! My brother's widow was a librarian on Maui, retiring two years ago. She still spends a month and a half there every year to get away from the Wet (sic) coast of Canada.

had to remind us of how nice Hawaii would be about now for a whole lot of us

Yes, it sounds like that K-x is just about ready for replacement. If you decide to stay with Pentax, there's plenty of choice in new and used bodies... and things have come a long way since the K-x was released.

have you considered the option of renting some equipment so you can have a try out before you buy.

I don't know if any photo rental firms will deliver to Hawaii or not.

I have dealt with Lens Rental and have had good luck.
