Hi from Australia Archil. Welcome to the Pentax forums. You have chosen very well with the K-3II. Ask us as many questions about your camera or lenses as you need to. Good to have you here.

Hi Archil - welcome to Pentax Forum from New Zealand.

Congratulations on the purchase of the K-3 II, it is a very good camera. I have a K-3 and have found it a very reliable and good camera to use.

With regard to lenses, what are you intending to use the camera for - what type of photography? Then we will be able to provide you a more informed answer.

Best wishes with your photographic journey with Pentax equipment.

Ross

I also have a k3 and really enjoy using it.

Regarding lenses you have a couple of options:

1. zoom lenses that cover you need, most people prefer the 13-135 because of its versatility, and one of the 55-300 available, which has a good quality price ratio. you can also opt for the 16-85, 50-135 and 60-250, all of them good from what i heard

2. the pentax way, with a handfull of da limited primes to cover your needs (or fa limited trio if you can afford it). best regarded are the 15, 35/40 and 70mm limiteds, but im pretty sure the others are also really good.

3. other third party lenses that are better priced (some but not all) but are hit and miss die to quality control.

These are general descriptions but recommandations vary on shooting stile and subject. as NZ_Ross said, if you tell us what you shoot and what is your budget you cand receive better advices.

Best of luck

Welcome!
I think with a weather-resistant camera you should have at least one weather-resistant lens. I like the 18-135 as a walkaround lens, I find it versatile and enjoyable. A strong contender to that lens is the 16-85, which is rated higher.

Beyond that, it depends on what you like to do. A specialty lens and a "fun" lens like one of the pancakes are worth considering. I really like the DA 21mm Ltd. on the K3, it really shines and is fun.

Without the AA filter, the K3 series really performs well with macro photography, Pentax has the outstanding 100mm lenses and the 35mm lens, though some third-party offerings are as good.

Thank you . I like street, portrait, astro. landscape. (exclude macro, at this moment) Several hours ago have purchased "DA 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 SMC AL WR" Now would like to take "HD PENTAX DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR"

Can I use all pentax aps-c lenses for k-3 II? (stupid question, Very new in it)

K3II is fully modern, you can use all K-mount lenses. It is ASPC, so you can use FF or ASPC lenses.

I'd wait on the 16-85 myself, and get something to complement the 18-55, instead of replace it since you just bought it.

Yes

Lenses - also have a look at the Pentax HD DA 20-40 Limited. It is a very good little lens. Good image quality, light and WR

Correct, did not thought about this.

I am planing to workout on 18-55 f3.5-5.6 and collect money for "Pentax HD D-FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR" or for several f1.4 to f2.8 lenses.

I have purchased "Transcend 64 GB 600x Class 10 SD SDHC UHS-I Ultimate Memory Card" hope it will work good. still not have second card. which do you recommend?

I have a Transcend and a Sony in my camera, both Class 10 UHS cards. Both seem to work fine, the Sony is in the first slot. It's nice having the second card as I have many times taken the camera on a walk only to find the card remained at home...

I think you have a good plan on the lens. See what focal lengths you like with the zoom, and whether you think you will want a longer lens in the future. It's always best to figure out what you want before buying something. Then, you can keep an eye on the used market here via the Marketplace.
