Hi from Italy

Hello evryone, I am from Italy and waiting for my Pentax 645z to arrive. Very excited. I have made a switch from Phase one ( aptus ii 75 back and Phaseone df+) very well aware of differences, pros and cons.

I wasn t aware of capoture1 not working on PEF files, kind of a shock for me. Surfing the web, all roads were leading to this forum to find turn around to solve- maybe- this issue.

i hope to be able to understand and find a solution without bothering anyone

G'day Claudio and welcome to the forums.

The answer to your question would be around here with a forum member, it might be worth asking in one of the more specific forums like medium format ( Pentax Medium Format - PentaxForums.com ) or the forum for processing software ( Digital Processing, Software, and Printing - PentaxForums.com ). You could cross post the question to ask in both to improve getting a timely response too.

I don't have the Z myself (wished I did though) but I'm guessing it will allow you to choose DNG RAW as an alternative to PEF RAW. If that's the case it might be worth testing a 645Z DNG RAW in Capture 1 and see if that works.
