Hi! I'm from Arkansas and live in Buffalo, NY. I started out 2005 taking my dad's old Minolta XG-1 around India which was a blast until I found out two months of pictures had terrible light leak! I put down film for about 10 years. From there I followed what I am now learning is a pretty common path back to film and into the world of Pentax. When my daughter was born in 2015 I bought a new a6000 and like many people who wanted beautiful filmic pictures from without spending thousands, I got my first SMC 50 1.4 and an adapter and loved the pictures it took. From there I rapidly accumulated legacy lenses but kept chewing my nails over getting a larger sensor just to gather more light, shorten my focal plane, and so on until I just said "duh" how about a large, disposable sensor! And so I got a Pentacon 6 and serviced the XG-1 and haven't looked back. I "accumulated" a number of fun rangefinders (Yashica electros, Argus c3, a Canonet QL17 and Olympus 35RC, as well as a Yashica-44 and a couple of found rolls of Verichrome Pan 127) which have been a blast to use. However it was that Pentax glass that first reminded me what I was missing and when I had the chance I grabbed up an ME super that was all locked up and took it apart and made it fire again and I can't wait to use it! So I look forward now to shooting pentax on pentax and getting a little set of lenses for it. I love shooting and sharing pictures but I admit I am a bit of a gearhead too and gain as much joy taking things apart and making them work as I do shooting, developing, scanning, and editing. My day job is general surgery so that's probably where the tinkering impulse comes from.
Sorry for the rambling introduction, not sure if I'll be lurking or talking but I've really enjoyed reading these forums over the last couple of years and learning from the knowledgeable and friendly folks here, so hello!
