Beach Photos

Hi all! I have a Pentax K-X that I'm certain I'm not using to it's full potential.

I am getting ready to take a beach vacation and was wondering if you all might have any hood tips for proper settings for beach photography?

Thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to the forum. Often, when on the beach you may find bright sunlight and strong shadows. A polarising filter can be a good idea and also a lens hood for avoiding glare. You may wish to use fill flash for people shots so as to reduce harsh shadows. Remember to align your photos with the horizon except in special circumstances and take care when swapping lenses. Sea spray, sand and cameras are not a good mix!

Kind regards,
Mark
