Greetings from Florida

I've visited these forums for years, and really appreciate the very thorough lens database.

I recently wrote an article about the Takumar 50mm 1.4 for Casual Photophile that a few of you might enjoy:

Desert Island Cameras No. 05 – Pentax Edition with Ned Bunnell, Former President of Pentax U.S. – Casual Photophile

Cheers,
Ned

Welcome, Ned, and thanks for sharing that! You'd probably find yourself right at home in these threads, which are full of Takumar shots. I thought we also had a thread dedicated to the 8-element 50mm, but perhaps not

Time to make one then? Who among us has one to get it started?

Welcome, Ned. Are you still shooting with Leica too?

Looking forward to your input on the forums.

Hi Rondec,

Thanks. Yes, still shoot with the Ricoh GXR M mount and my 35mm Summicron...which still produces superb images.

I also put about 24 rolls of film a year through my 48 yr old M4 which I had totally overhauled by Kanto Camera Service in Japan a year ago.

But my main interest in the past few months (as evidenced by the Casual Photophile article) is shooting with the early Super Takumar gems

Welcome, best wishes, and thanks very much for posting the link to your article.

I have been a Pentax user since the 1960s, starting with an H1A.
