Exact location

I'll ask my best friend (stuck out his tripod for me to catch) to describe the exact location. He and his wife just returned from Peru and they have pixs of the site. I can imagine "fishing" for it, but only maybe. I had my 18mm and 55mm lenses in backpack, they were barely immersed before I threw the backpack on the granite ledge (I went into the water). Both dried very well in 5 pounds of rice after being tied in socks. He lost his tripod, but the extended legs had enough air to make it past the whirlpool and he later found it feeling with his feet/wading after tying to a nearby tree just to stay upright. My new K-1 came USPS today. Yea!

I'm curious about that.. when you filed the claim, did your insurance company raise your rate? And was there a deductible?
No. I have a separate rider for just camera equipment and some of my wifeís jewelry. Every time I buy a new camera or lens I update it (with serial numbers...). If I donít remove an item that will raise the rate. Iíve used it twice. Once my son dropped a camera and broke the mount on an inexpensive lens and the time my K-3 and DA 55-300 fell fourteen floors. I donít know if it mattered, but I have a great relationship with my agent and his staff. We got to know each other well when my entire home was lost in a fire. State Farm was incredible and I will never change homeowners insurance. Even though it was a service I paid for, I will forever feel Iím in their debt. They were amazing!
