Hello, fledgling pentaxian here

Hello, fledgling pentaxian here
This is my "introduction" post.
I am going to purchase the K1, probably from B&H. I am trying to sort out "Lenses" and which one(s) to start out with. I am trying to sort through the lens stories. I don't see many primes, currently built by Pentax. I am interested in the film-era high end glass such as Zeis but I am a total beginner in Pentax lens mounts. Is it advisable to to just a sweet 50mm as a break-in. I have been shooting-learning with Nikon D200 since 2006. Question: Is "Pentax K-mount" the only mount format that will work directly on the K1 body?
Thank you,
Richard

Yes. But you can adapt M42 lenses with a very simple adapter, and also larger medium format lenses.

I'd recommend to start with the D FA 28-105mm zoom, then you'll be covered for everyday shooting and you can add primes as you see fit. The upcoming D FA* 50mm F1.4 would be a real treat when it's released!

By the way, here's a listing of all Pentax lenses new and old (there are lots of primes):

And a very easy way to search them

55mm lenses were very popular when I was a teenager. That was all I used until I purchased a 70-210 lens.
