New to Med Format- Fashion & Fine art photographer

Hey guys.

I just bought a used in Mint Condition Pentax 645D Med Format. I am excited what I can now create with this camera.

I have only been a photographer for about 2-3 years; but felt it was time to jump from my Nikon D800e.

I mostly use my Nikon 85 1.4 and my 50m 1.2 I only use manual focus.

I am looking for lens that would compare with the focal length. In my studio I am at F8-F10

Here is some of my work with my Nikon

I would suggest 645 75 2.8 and 67 105 2.4.

If you want to stay with 645 glass, the Pentax 645 55mm f/2.8 (couple options here: Pentax 645 Wide-Angle Primes - Lens Reviews and Specifications - SLR and Interchangeable Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database) & a 120mm f/4 Macro lens will be the closest equivalents (couple options here: Pentax 645 Telephoto Primes - Lens Reviews and Specifications - SLR and Interchangeable Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database)

I just picked up a Pentax smc FA 645 120mm f/4 Macro Lens. I think I am going to buy the Pentax smc FA 645 45-85mm f/4.5 Lens.

Thank you for the nice advice.

Would me buying the 645d a bad choice or should I bite the bullet and the Z version?

The 645d is definitely not a bad choice. There is something about that sensor. Could be the colors, could be something else, but in either way the camera is great and you will find a good number of people who prefer the ccd sensor over the cmos sensor. Happy shooting.

Both of them are great choices, it all depends on how much you're willing to spend and which one fits your needs.
