Greetings from Minnesota!

Hello all!
I have been lurking here for about two months now and have finally decided to actually join in now. I have owned my K1000 since 1984 and enjoyed photography casually then. I have always been fascinated with photography and enjoyed reading magazine like Popular Photography back in the day just dreaming what it would have been like to really dive and even have my own darkroom at that point. Then life hands you many curve balls.

About two months ago I was browsing through and antique store and found an area with lots of older 35mm equipment, some of junk and some it nicer stuff. There was sitting a nice looking SF1 with a 80-300mm zoom and a live battery in it so that it worked on turning it on. Everything appeared to be in ordered and it was labeled for only $40 and home it came with me and now re-invigorating the hobby, and going analog. I bought a 10 back of B/W film to start testing the camera out and make sure there are no real issues with it. Hope to have results soon and sharing on this site!

Welcome I started with a K1000 and have been using Pentax ever since. After many years finally went digital but I still like the look of analog. Good Luck!

Welcome!
If you want to go digital with those old manual lenses, get a K10D or K20D and put a split-focus screen in it. The older sensors had a real film-like image quality. I should not have sold mine.
