Hi from NW England

Hello everyone, I've finally decide to join this site after following reviews and advice from a distance since I purchased my K5 a while back. This has led to me adding a number of primes to the 18-55 kit lens, namely the following DA Limiteds 15mm F4, 21mm F3.2, 40mm F2.8 and 70mm F2.4, then a 55-300 ED WR.
If the truth be told, I'm still pretty much a novice with mixed results using my camera, mostly leaving it on Av.
Looking forward to getting out a bit more and using these lenses outdoors. My hobbies include mountaineering and visiting old buildings, mostly here in the UK.
The one thing I will need to get to grips with is using software to edit the results.

Nothing wrong with that, Av is a reliable option to get good results out of your gear.

I use Av and M more than any other setting and like the DoF control and capture speed Av gives you. Especially in changing light as It allows you to take advantage of digital photography and utilise chimping of your exposure and, if necessary, dial in some compensation quickly if needed.

Enjoy your time here mate, and I hope to see some of what you capture around the UK posted here for us all to enjoy.

Big welcome from Florida too! I love this place, friendly, amazingly helpful, and what a range of members from hardened pro to novice.
And the best part? No one looks down on new shooters, and no question is considered silly. Don't hesitate to ask away.

Greetings Brian. Shame there's so little to shoot up there in the NW of England ;-) No I'm not jealous. Honest ...
