Laurie, just a note of warning, there is a strict no politics and no religion policy on this forum.
I can't think of a single Aussie moderator, so there won't be a mod who recognises Jackie Jackie, Please Expain and Malcolm Turnbull as political figures, so no-one will go in the sin bin for this the past page or two.
The mods are pretty good, have been known to join in a bit of banter (occasionally !!)
Thank you for the heads up
I'm very sorry about breaching the code of conduct and I accept responsibility and I am happy to take any consequences for the breach.

I'm an Aussie Mod Rod, I saw Laurie's post and it is OK. Mentioning a politician by name is ALRIGHT, mentioning their politics is ALLWRONG.

Peter, you must be forgetable!!
I did notice your status the other day and then promptly forgot.
I was being more lighthearted than it sounded, and in fact it took me a while to work out who Jackie Jackie is! I hadn't caught up with that one.

No worries Laurie, I was half informing you that there is a policy, and half joking.
I wasn't suggesting that you had crossed the line.
As pjv (Peter) points out, there is an Aussie mod.

Another Aussie mod here, along with pjv...
The inside knowledge required of those public figures is clearly left to the few Aussies who are aware of the current developments, but it is best left out of discussions here for the sake of keeping within forum rules. Thanks and enjoy this forum,

Welcome to the forum, it sounds to me like your gonna fit in just fine around here, as there's quite a few like minded folk already here, myself included.

Hi Greg, and thank you
I'm glad you mentioned batteries, I was going to go with the energizer li po.....then I saw rave reviews regarding the Eneloop batteries, so my question is
1/ do you use normal or pro Eneloop?
2/ What MAH does one use?

A canary yellow lens? how awesome!
Hi,

I have both sets of Eneloops,2000mAh and 2500 or 2800mAh, both are excellent. I have swapped over all the cameras in the household to Eneloops, so have 16 batteries.

Had 1 pack of Energizers, would not recharge after the first run, must have got a bad batch, never been back, also have used Jaycar NiMH, but my K200 would say flat batteries straight off the charger, even fully charged.
Must be something to do with discharge voltage, but they still worked fine.

Got the Canary yellow at a bargain price because it is Yuk Yellow in colour, certainly does not impact the image quality. I do like the colour options that are sometimes available with Pentax cameras and lenses, why not, it is all individual taste.

If you do look at the the DA 35mm and DA 50mm lenses with polycarbonate mounts, ignore the mount, they are near on indestructable, focus on the picture quality and look at the lens reviews on this forum. I've made good decisions based on these reviews.

Have fun,
Greg

Ash, my apologies. I had forgotten all about you (it is so long since I have seen any of your work; I must inhabit different threads to you. Actually I'm trying to inhabit threads less often, and take more pictures [as well as clean up my desk])
