I'm baaaaaaaaack

Miss me?

Honestly wasn't in the market for a Pentax (though I do love the K1), but was visiting a photo store that's going out of business and promised "at least 50% off everything" in hopes to score some quality m43 gear (I did). Saw this beast sitting on a shelf, asked if it was a 645D. "No, that's a Z." "Ah, nevermind then...." "Well, how about you get it for [less than 1/4 of regular price]? It's a demo and we don't have anything for it other than the battery and charger."

Uh, sold. Got the 55/2.8 as part of the deal.

So now I am shooting Pentax again. Been a while!

Autofocus sure is slow though!

Welcome back! That's an amazing deal, congrats! Haha, no one should be able to complain about the autofocus speed on a medium format camera.

It was a bit of an inside joke for those who remember me from the past. But yeah, AF speed is not a big deal on something like this. And it really ain't that bad. (Gotta say though that the latest Olympus gear is astounding; I have an E-M1 II and I've seen nothing like it. Instant focus acquisition with the 12-40 Pro.)

Not just the top of the line, the latest entry level 10(3) does very well.

Yeah, though when you're using C-AF (continuous AF) the difference is more noticeable. Going to take the E-M1II and 100-400 birding which should be a good test. Spoiled with having used Canon gear for it for many years, but getting tired of all the weight so hoping I can get away with a smaller setup for the print sizes I work with.
