From Rome?! I am so sorry that you have absolute NOTHING to take photos of in your city. Just a terrible situation. /sarcasm

In other words....ROME!? How awesome is that! Definitely post pics.

Welcome aboard.

Bienvenuto Alessio

Best city in the world for photographers

Uncle Vanya
I set out early to climb the 540 steps to the top of st peters basilica. When I got there it was misty!!!

Tip one, visit the Vatican early, but not too early and make sure you climb to the top. Also, stand and marvel at the pieta.

Tip two, don't expect to photograph the sistine chapel, they don't allow it! It seems a Japanese TV franchise own all the image rights

Tip three, visit piazza navona, the pantheon and the trevi fountain. Don't listen to any negative reviews because they are all stunning

Tip four, eat at Pizza Zizza near the Vatican. Best pizza EVER! It is very small and generally full but wow. Another recommendation. Is another small, family run restaurant called Alfredo e Ada

Tip the last. Get to the forum early, find the viewing platform on palatine hill then walk through ancient Rome before the more moronic tourists arrive. Palatine hill and the forum are vast and you can easily lose two hours in there

I hope that helps Mrs uncle Vanya

I can't wait to return. Can you tell?

Thank you! This is very helpful. She has about 3 days there on a much longer 3 week long trip with a friend. She's arriving there first and has high hopes. They are looking into a reserved night visit to the Vatican - not sure I know much about it yet.
