Hello from Toronto, Ontario Canada

Hi All

I am from Toronto, Ontario Canada and I am fairly new to photography and to Pentax. The Pentax K-70 is my first DSLR camera and it is the one I am using. As I am still new I am sure I will have loads of questions. The first is: Is it worth it to purchase the K-70 e-book? and if so is it still available? Thanks

Vita

Hello Vita - and welcome!

I am not the right person to answer your question about the e-book - it gets good reviews, so I guess many people find it useful. Personally, I learn best by trial and error and playing around with my camera. I have had the K-10, K7, K5 and now K3, and I confess I never completely finished any single one of the official manuals for those.

I do ask a lot of forum questions though, and I have learned more about camera settings and creative possibilities by reading forum posts and asking forum questions than I think any manual could have taught me.

But - I am sure you will get an answer from someone who actually bought and read the e-book! This post was just to say welcome.

Welcome to the forums and to the wonderful world of DSLRs!

Knowing your tools is an important part of the craft, and investing in knowledge will do more for your photpgraphy than new lenses and stuff, so I'd say if you can afford it, go for it!

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum!

There is a listing in the marketplace for the e-boos, and I believe a sticky post under the camera section. Yes the one for the K-70 will be available and will be a great source of information!

Welcome Vita,

As @MetteHHH says ...you will learn a lot by reading forum posts and asking questions ....I know I sure have!

I've visited your area several times on business and always loved it there ....except maybe the traffic on the 401 :-(

The nice thing about ebooks, is they are generally readable and understandable.
But in general, if someone here does exactly what you want to do, you'll find better information here. AN ebook may give you one solution to a problem. The forum tends to give you 4 or 5 and you can pick the one that most suits you.
