Hello from Smokey British Columbia.

Just upgraded myself from K50 to KP. Love the retro look and added functionalities. Been able to pick up a used lens 18mm - 135mm Pentax for it for a good price. Just encountered a small problem with the camera when the processing symbol would be stuck on the display for the live view and playback. Was able to resolve by popping out the battery. Will have to keep n eye on this. Wonder if others experienced this. Thought I would pick up a Pluto trigger for it and try some pics.

I was in Bellingham last weekend and that smoke you lot are sending down is terrible. Couldn't get a decent photograph and I found out I'm not as young as I used to be or at least not when you cannot breathe. Hoping for rain soon.

Welcome by the way and congrats on the KP.

A nice pacific breeze is needed to push this smoke away. Can’t see any mountains, but the smoke does make an orange hue, providing some interesting lighting. Noticed both the sun and moon were red yesterday.

Pentax has had troubles once in a while with batteries charging too high for the camera. Not damaging, but it confuses the camera and locks it up. Usually it disappears after a couple recharges.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you, I’m going to monitor this. Hoping it was just a one off glitch. I’m quite impressed with the programmable features on the KP. I bought a Pluto Trigger and tested it out. It used the mic plug for the shutter trigger. Looking forward to new ways of photography.

Welcome! The Pluto Trigger looks to have some good potential. So far have only used as a shutter release and timer in testing but working on the more advanced features. Lightning trigger especially interesting but no rain so far in the high desert - just smoke. Here is hoping we both get some rain and good shots.

So far so good, the one criticism would be the missing IR shutter capability. The image sync app needs some improvements. I do have the Pluto trigger, that has a better app for functionality, but do miss the simple IR function. Just have to learn to adjust.

Welcome - lots of good folks here to help out as needed.

However, I do have a bone to pick with you BCers - I have relatives in Coeur d'Alene that would love to give you your smoke back!! (It really is a bummer to have so many fires going! Praying for rain)
